October headlines, part 2: 38 events happening across NC this month

Here’s our exclusive wrap-up of upcoming events happening across North Carolina through the end of October. This includes the latest meetups, conferences, workshops, application deadlines and networking events that occur in Asheville, Charlotte, Trinity, Wilmington and other parts of the state.

Many events will be held in person, with some organizers returning to live events. Others will be held by default and are referred to as such.

Venture Asheville Corporate Entrepreneurship Series It will feature CEOs from major companies discussing models, tools and frameworks for innovation and sustainable growth.

This career fair will feature a range of job opportunities from businesses and organizations in Western North Carolina that include advanced manufacturing, technology, healthcare, tourism, professional services and other sectors.

Every Wednesday morning, entrepreneurs in the Lake Norman region join in to present their companies to mentors, consultants, and other startups. Join in to meet new people and collaborate with fellow entrepreneurs.

At this monthly event, local Robson County entrepreneurs will present their products/services to their peers and connect with the startup community.

Held every week, 1 Million Cups Charlotte features a presentation from a local startup followed by questions and answers from the community.

Each month, a few Charlotte-area businesses lead the Pitch Breakfast, showcasing their products and services for six minutes, after which they’ll answer questions from the audience and a panel of entrepreneurs and experts. This month’s event will be held in a mixed format.

NC TECH Technology Innovation Index Released + Brief

At this virtual event, NC TECH will present its annual North Carolina Technology Innovation Index, a report detailing how the state’s metro areas compare nationally in supply of tech talent, talent demand, and innovation.

The North Carolina Biotechnology Center Innovation Impact Grant provides up to $150,000 in funding for the acquisition of research equipment for university campuses or nonprofit organizations engaged in life science research.
